Engaging Aboriginal parents and carers in learning and discussion about child injury prevention.
Similar to many health issues, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are more at risk of experiencing an injury, with hospital admission rates 1.3 times higher than non Indigenous Australian children.
Kidsafe Victoria, with the support of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, adapted Kidsafe South Australia’s ‘Safety for our Little Fellas’ Child Safety resource kit to target Victorian Aboriginal parents and carers.
The ‘Safety for Our Little Fellas’ kit is designed to provide organisations and services with a tool to effectively engage Aboriginal parents and carers in learning and discussion about child injury prevention.
You can download the kit for free below, or order a hard copy of the Safety for our Little Fellas kit for your organisation (for the cost of postage or free pick up at our office in Clayton), by emailing us at info@kidsafevic.com.au.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
