FREE child restraint fitting around the state on National Kidsafe Day Print E-mail

Current research suggests that around 70% of children are incorrectly restrained, placing children at risk of serious injury or death.

 

This year on National Kidsafe Day, Kidsafe Victoria have partnered with Hire for Baby to provide free restraint checks in 14 locations around the state. This service will provide parents and carers with the opportunity to ensure their child restraints are correctly fitted, and reduce the risk of injury.

Bowls Victoria is the governing body of bowls in Victoria, overseeing all areas of sports business. Victorian Bowls has a network of 530 clubs, 60,000 affiliated bowlers and estimated to have hundreds of thousands of social bowlers throughout Victoria.

Parents urged to supervise or separate

Dr Mark Stokes, President of Kidsafe Victoria said parents need to recognise that driveways are one of the deadliest areas around the home. The warning comes following the death of a second toddler this week. The death occurred last night on a shared driveway in Chirnside - these have become common where two homes are built on one block.

Chinese-made toy foam mats recalled in Europe Print E-mail

Kidsafe Victoria has prompted an investigation by Australian regulatory authorities into the recent banning of children’s foam mats by the Belgian and French governments.

The popular interlocking foam mats, with alphabet and other designs, have been found to contain formamides, prompting their recall.
